Local resident supports O’Brien because of his record in Holden
      To the Editor: Soon we will be voting for a new State Representative. I favor Ken O’Brien. Ken has supported public school education since he took office as a selectman in Holden in 2004. Ken is concerned about the rising cost of health care. Ken promises that this will be one of his key areas of work as a state representative.

SROs should be restored
      This year both Westminster and Ashburnham police departments have formally eliminated the school resource officer position in order to move the officers to other assignments within the towns. The police departments are coping with reduced overtime budgets, which means they are not filling empty shifts so there is less time to be in the classrooms.
