FRIDAY - JUNE 23 Westminster  Summer Swim program signups have been extended to Friday, June 23, and Friday, June 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Mt. Wachusett Community College. This is a free program that the town offers, the kids have a lot of fun and they learn how to swim in the process. Please call Laura Delorey if you have any questions at (978) 874-5868.

SATURDAY - JUNE 24 Townsend  34th Annual Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Townsend Center Common, junction of routes 13 and 119). Hosted by the Townsend Woman's Club.

TUESDAY - JUNE 27 Other  Nancy Kangas, who is working on her Finnish genealogy, is presenting "Tips and hints for successful genealogical research across the pond," at 7 p.m. in the upstairs hall of the American Legion, Post #129, 22 Elm St., Gardner. The program is being held by the Central Massachusetts Genealogical Society. It is open to the public, for guests $2, families $17 and a yearly membership is $12. MONDAY - JUNE 26 Ashby  Cable Advisory Board and Ashby Town Selectmen are holding a public hearing at 7 p.m. about with to continue

the local cable access channel and ask residents to voice your opinion. Having our public events broadcast on cable is not guaranteed, but is part of our negotiations with Comcast.
