Community center gets grant from Comcast
The Wendell P. Clark Memorial Community Center, which serves residents of Ashburnham and Westminster, recently received a $2,000 grant from Comcast that will be used to provide the organization and its patrons with High-Speed Internet, cable service and TVs.
"This partnership is a reflection of Comcast's commitment to communities we serve," said Alyson Genovese, community relations manager for Comcast's Northern New England region. "Comcast's support is designed to provide access for patrons to enjoy next generation Internet and cable services. We wish the Clark Community Center continued success in its efforts."
"We appreciate Comcast's generous support of our organization," said Brian DuBois, executive director of the Wendell P. Clark Memorial Center. "Our patrons will enjoy and appreciate the new services we will be able to offer."
The Wendell P. Clark Memorial Center is a non-profit, charitable community organization located in Winchendon, serves the residents of Winchendon, Ashburnham, Westminster, Templeton, Gardner and Fitchburg, as well as New Hampshire communities Rindge, Fitzwilliam, Jaffrey and Peterborough and is geared toward serving the fitness and well-being needs of youth and families.
The current membership enrollment figure is 2,314, with approximately 27 percent receiving financial assistance through the scholarship program. Many more local residents utilize the facility, including the walking track, playing fields, playground, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, Robinson-Broadhurst Community Ice Rink, gymnasium, 25-yard swimming pool, and fitness center.
