5th Annual Bluegrass Music Festival scheduled The Ashby Historical Society will hold its 5th Annual Bluegrass Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 12. The festival will be held at the Ashby Stock Farm and Equestrian Center on Main Street (Route 119) in Ashby, from noon until 7 p.m. Parking is free. This will be a great afternoon for you. The "Muddy Marsh Ramblers" and "Good Time Charlie's" Bluegrass Bands will provide music from 1-5 p.m. Finnish Music from 5-6 p.m. Finnish dancers 6:30-7 p.m. Barn tour of the beautiful prize Morgan horses (over 50) with two horse shows: 12-1 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. Free hayrides for adults and children to the top of Caton Hill to view the City of Boston skyline and the mountains in this area. The Ashby Historical Society will have their annual big silent auction with many door prizes being offered. Ice cold drinks, ice cream and more will be available for sale. At 5 p.m. McNally's Restaurant, of Westminster, will cater a Steamship Buffet. The menu includes hand carved round of beef, au jus, hand carved baked ham with pineapple sauce, roasted potatoes, baked beans, corn on the cob, garden salad, rolls and butter, coffee, tea, water, pasta salad and homemade strawberry shortcake. The buffet will be by reservations only. Tickets must be reserved and purchased by Aug. 9. Reservation forms available in Ashby at: Mr. Mike's, Ashby Market, 31 Store, Ashby Car Care, The Gardeners Cottage, Ashby Library and area business in Fitchburg, Lunenburg, and Townsend. You may call Lil Whitney at (978) 386-5653 to reserve tickets. The admission and dinner tickets price for adults 13 years or over is $25. Children 7-13 price is $15. Buffet and music reservation if paid by august 5 deduct $5 per adult and $2.50 per child 7-13 years. Under six are admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
