Paperbacks wanted to benefit others

To the Editor:

Thanks to the firefighters who moved the books between my house and the senior center, to the individuals who helped me set up and take down the books, to those who donated books and to those who purchased books, a donation of $197.35 was made tot he Gordon R. Erickson Memorial Fire/Rescue Fund.

The next book sale is tentatively set for the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 6-9) and it will again be held in the senior center. The proceeds from this sale will evenly divided between the senior center and the Forever Young Club.

I hope to have sales benefiting different non-profit organizations in town and to do this I need your help. I am looking for adult paperback fiction (mysteries, espionage, war, horror, science fiction, romances, westerns, historical fiction and general fiction), children's fiction (especially books for younger children and beginning readers), cookbooks and craft books. I have been given permission to have the books dropped off at the senior center, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely, Louise Reid, Ashburnham
