Townsend Recreation summer activities continue

Tennis

Planet Tennis USA (www.planettennisusa.com) will conduct tennis lessons Aug. 7-11 at the Hawthorne Brook Middle School. Beginners 1-2 p.m. and intermediate/advanced 2-3 p.m. Cost is $60 for the week. Open to the first 30 applicants, ages 6 and up, for each session. Forms may be picked up at the town library. Mail form with check to 101 Main St., Townsend, MA 01469

Lowell Spinners

Lowell Spinners tickets available for the Friday, Aug. 18, game against the Jamestown Jammers. Game starts at 7:05 p.m. at the Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell. Tickets are $6.50 each and are in section 66-box 108 or Grand Prix-Box 109. You provide your own transportation. Make check out to Townsend Recreation, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and mail to 101 Main St., Townsend , MA 01469.

Parent/Preschool group

A daily rate of $3 is now being accepted for this program. It is held at the Kid's Kountry Playground, located at the corner of Eastman and Turnpike Roads (rain location is Hawthorne Brook Middle School-rear entrance).

Any child under kindergarten age is welcome to attend with a parent/guardian. The fun happens on July 18, 20, 25, 27 and Aug.1 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Counselors will oversee free play, story time, craft time, snack time and games, while parents help. Parents are responsible for their own child's morning snack. Just stop by and see counselors Kate or Katy to join.

Summer Theater

Rehearsals are underway for a theater production to be presented on the common in August.
