Bruce R. Garlick, 84 ASHBURNHAM - Bruce R. Garlick, 84, a longtime resident of Brigham Park, died Monday, July 24, 2006, in Sterling Health Care Center, Sterling. He was born on Feb. 6, 1922, in New York City, N.Y., the son of the late Dr. Ralph H. Garlick and Helen B. (Williams) Garlick. He grew up in New York and Ashburnham. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Cushing Academy and received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. He also pursued graduate studies at Clark University, Northeastern University, and Rutgers University. Mr. Garlick leaves his children, the Rev. Thomas B. Garlick, pastor of St. Richard of Chichester Church, Sterling; Mary Ellen Hurley and her husband, Richard, of Leominster, Ralph J. Garlick of Ashland, Brenda J. Garlick of St. Louis Park, Minn., George P. Garlick and his wife, Sandra, of Ashburn, Va. and Martha J. Garlick of Somerville; a granddaughter, Johanna Hurley of Worcester; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Sweeney and Jean Belliveau of Fitchburg; as well as several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Joan J. (Belliveau) Garlick. |
