Summer Young Writers' Workshop Weekly sessions will provide an opportunity for creative expression through a variety of writing prompts. The workshop will be led by Janet Loomis, a retired English teacher. Students may attend as many or as few sessions as they would like. The program will be held on Wednesdays, Aug. 2 & 9, from 6-7 p.m. in room 1 of Memorial Hall. The program is open to students in grades 6-8. Sign up now at the library.

Reader's Theatre Let's get dramatic! In Reader's Theatre, each student gets a part in a play, and the plays are read aloud, using interesting voices and sounds. With smaller parts for beginning readers and bigger parts for advanced readers, there is sure to be something for everyone. Plays include, James and the Giant Peach, Charlotte's Web, and Spiderella. There will be theme-related snack and activities for each play, too. So don't be shy, join in the fun! Helen Pacyna, of The Learning Center, will be hosting this program, which will be held on Wednesday Aug. 16, at 2:30 p.m. in room 2 of Memorial Hall. It is for grades 4-6.

Pizza and Pages I Eat pizza and read Summer Required Reading book, "Downsiders" by Neal Shusterman, with teacher Cynthia Jones. At the end of the sessions, she will give students tips for completing their assignment. The program is open to students going into the 8th grade. It will be held on Tuesday Aug. 29, in room 2 of Memorial Hall, from 5-6 p.m.

Pizza and Pages II Eat pizza and read Summer Required Reading book, "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton, with teacher Cynthia Jones. At the end of the sessions, she will give students tips for completing their assignment. The program is open to students going into the 7th grade. It will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23 in room 2 of Memorial Hall from 5-6 p.m.

Pizza and Pages III Eat pizza and read Summer Required Reading book, "A

Single Shard" by Linda Sue Park, with teacher Cynthia Jones. At the end of the sessions, she will give students tips for completing their assignment. The program is open to students going into the 6th grade. It will be held on Thursday Aug. 24 in room 2 of Memorial Hall from 5-6 p.m.

Storytime Find out what's buzzin' at storytime with Lori Stevenson. This storytime will be held on Friday, Aug. 18, at 2:30 p.m. in room 1.

Chess Club Kim Garafola welcomes all interested students to learn how to play chess and/or improve your skills. She will teach and set up tournaments. Bring your own chessboard if you have one. The program will be held Friday, Aug. 18. It will be held in room 2 of Memorial Hall at 2:30 p.m. All grades are welcome.
