The Ashburnham Police Department is pleased to announce that in July Officer Nicholas Dalton successfully completed a course and training in car seat installation and has been certified as a Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Dalton attended a week-long course, which was sponsored by The Massachusetts Governor's Highway Safety Bureau. Attending this National Standardized Course will enable Dalton to assist Ashburnham residents in the correct installation of child restraints, the selection of an appropriate child restraint and how to recognize misuse and compatibility issues with certain child restraints.

Dalton will be available to teach others how to properly restrain children in motor vehicles and offer examples of diligent safety practices. The Ashburnham Police Department and Dalton look forward to being able to serve as a community resource in the critical area of child passenger safety.

Officer Dalton works from 3-11 p.m. and it is requested that individuals seeking an inspection, instruction or advice contact him at (978) 827-4413 to schedule an appointment.
