SPORTS POLICE LOG WESTMINSTER Calls from July 31 through Aug. 6 Monday, July 31 9:27 a.m., State Road East -Caller reports a gravel truck on State Road East going towards town and losing its load. 3:52 p.m., Main Street - Larceny by check reported at store. 4:12 p.m., Main Street - Larceny by check reported at gas station. Tuesday, Aug. 1 2:41 p.m., Mile Hill - Woman calls reporting that her son's car is disabled on Mile Hill. 5:47 p.m., State Road East - Caller complains about a tractor trailer unit parked in front of her house. Police speak with driver of the truck and driver says he will be leaving shortly. 6:43 p.m., Keys - Police report that they are transporting a prisoner to Keys in Worcester. 9:29 p.m., North Shore-Leino Park- Caller reports a neighbor is shooting off fireworks. Officers report but nothing is seen or heard. Wednesday, Aug. 2 11:40 a.m., Old Oak Avenue-Leino Park- Caller reports kids jumping off bridge and throwing rocks at boats. Caller calls back again and says kids are throwing rocks at his house. 12:19 p.m., Route 2 West - Car fire is reported on Route 2 West. Fire is extinguished and police wait for tow. Small fire in the engine compartment was reported. 3:28 p.m., State Road East - Police report car passing several cars by the Old Mill. Citation is issued for passing in a no passing zone. 4:44 p.m., Town Farm Road - Woman from Department of Aging requests welfare check on older woman she knows. Police report and find that everything is okay. 4:45 p.m., Lake Drive East - Same woman calls to request welfare check on another older woman who is on oxygen. Officer reports and sees that she is all right. 5:17 p.m., Fitchburg Road - Leominster officers report disable motor vehicle by beach area that is causing a problem with traffic because it is kind of sticking out into the road. Officers call for a tow. 6:31 p.m., Sargent Road - Man calls reporting that his neighbors told him that during the night they saw a man hiding in the bushes and looking into the caller's car. Caller requests periodic area checks. Thursday, Aug. 3 7:45 a.m., Shady Avenue - Caller reports a black bear in her yard and wants an officer to chase it away. Officer reports but bear is gone on arrival. 9:08 a.m., Main Street - Person comes into the station reporting a dog wandering on Main Street. 10:05 a.m., Old County Road - Caller reports a problem with her neighbor's dogs. 10:08 a.m., West Hill Drive - Caller reports that her cat has been missing for a week. 11:35 a.m., Village Inn Road - Man requests assistance for a baby that is locked in a car. Parent soon returns though and no service is needed. 12:37 p.m., Kurikka Place - Domestic dispute reported. 14 year old and 16 year old locked their mom out of the house. Charges will be filed. 12:26 p.m., Main Street - Caller reports a bat is in her apartment. Animal Control Officer is notified. 3:40 p.m., Bartherick Road - Caller reports that he is involved in a legal case with a Hells Angel who has threatened his life. The case is going to be in court soon and the caller states that the suspect is known to carry a weapon and wear body armor. States that the Hells Angel told him he was going to kill him. Says that he just wanted the police to be aware of it and that he will call 911 if need be. 4:15 p.m., Fitchburg Road - Leominster State Forest officers report that a person came to them and stated that they believe there is a registered sex offender at the swimming area. 7:04 p.m., Bean Porridge Hill Road - Caller reports that a contractor is coming to speak with him about issues they were having with paving and the caller is afraid that things are going to get heated and would like an officer to stand by. 7:43 p.m., Leino Park - Caller reports girls jumping off bridge into the lake. 8:55 p.m., Route 140 North - Winchendon Police report possible driver under the influence driving towards Westminster. 9:44 p.m., Sargent Road - Male comes into the station reporting a suspicious vehicle seen in the area and thinks that they are watching his kids. Officers speak with the driver and the driver says he is visiting someone who lives in the area. 10:28 p.m., Whitmanville Road - Officers on foot into woods because there are a lot of kids in the area. Officers report back to station with seven parties to make phone clals to their parents. Friday, Aug. 4 2:59 a.m., Center Street - Ashburnham Police request an officer to assist them in making an arrest in Ashburnham. Officers report. 6:26 p.m., Bean Porridge Hill Road - Caller reports that she is going insane. Father is spoken to and he states that his daughter is having problems with a new family situation and is seeing a therapist but has episodes where she breaks things. Officers transport woman to hospital. 6:40 p.m., East Road - Caller reports that she is watching a neighbor's dog while he is on vacation and that the dog escaped. Calls back and says the dog has returned. 6:49 p.m., Main Street - Caller reports people drinking alcohol outside restaurant. Officers report and find no one drinking outside but speak with bartender to make sure that all customers drink inside. 8:48 p.m., Route 2 West - Caller reports that she was involved in a accident and that she was rear-ended. 10:33 p.m., Edro Isle Road - Caller reports a party at the end of Edro Isle road. Officers report and find that people are just talking and having a few drinks and that there is no cause for complaint at this time. Saturday, Aug. 5 3:20 a.m., Route 140 - Gardner Police request officer to check out a van parked near Betty Spring Road. Van is soon towed. 5:29 a.m., Fitchburg Road - Report of vandalism at the town dump. Damage is reported to the driver side window of a front end loader. 7:51 a.m., Gatehouse Road/Route 140 - Caller reports that a vehicle smashed into a telephone pole. No one is with the vehicle but that both air bags deployed. Owner of vehicle is located and transported home. 4:21 p.m., Church Street - Caller reports a loose dog at her residence and says she left a message with the owner and will bring the dog into the station. Owner came in later to pick up the dog. Sunday, Aug. 6 3:40 a.m., Bemis Road - Hubbardston Police request backup for motor vehicle accident/domestic disturbance. 10:20 a.m., State Road West - Officers stop motor vehicle and take one person into custody. Officers are transporting prisoner to station. Citation for speed and charged with possession of marijuana. 6:59 p.m., Hanks Hill Road - Caller reports loud music in the neighborhood. Officers report but hear nothing. 10:33 p.m., Potato Hill Road - Caller reports there was a car filled with males sitting in her driveway. She says the car left but that she would like an officer to check the area. Officer checks area but nothing is found. |
