Valerie C. (Boucher) Holroyd, 72
WESTMINSTER - Valerie C. (Boucher) Holroyd, 72, of 46 Dawley Road, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 in her home after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard W. Holroyd Sr., a daughter Joyce A. Holroyd-McGuire and her husband Ronald E. McGuire of Westminster, a son Richard W. Holroyd, Jr. and his wife Michelle A. Bianco of Barre, her beloved granddaughter Megan M. McGuire, of Westminster, four sisters Evelyn Boucher, of Fitchburg, Marie Lashua, of Fitchburg, Rita Hakola, of Townsend, and Lucy Carfaro ,of Camarillo, Calif., five brothers Fulgence Boucher of Hudson, N.H., Aldege Boucher, of Fitchburg, Roger Boucher, of Fitchburg, George Boucher, of Riverside, Calif., and Norman Boucher, of Wilmington, N.C., many sister-in-laws, brother-inlaws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Anna Ganon and Rolanda Bourgault and two brothers Oscar Boucher and Narcisse Boucher who died on Aug. 24, 2006. Mrs. Holroyd was born in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada on Dec. 27, 1933, daughter of Alphonse and Marie-Anne (Dube) Boucher and moved to Fitchburg with her family in April 1937. She has lived in Westminster for the past 42 years. She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg in 1951 and worked at The Hope Co. in Fitchburg and Northboro for 31 years and was an inside sales associate when she retired 1995. She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Westminster and was active in the church's annual fair. She was also involved in the Westminster Town Benefit. She enjoyed swimming, listening to music, dancing and most of all, spending time with her granddaughter Megan.
