IN BRIEF The family of Bob Leblanc, of West Townsend, will host the second annual Robert J. Leblanc Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Townsend Ridge Country Club. Registration will begin at noon, followed by a Shotgun Start at 1 p.m. and a buffet served at 6 p.m. Last year, Bob's family raised and donated more than $3,000 to the American Lung Association Lung Cancer Discovery Grant and Camp Chest Nut, a summer camp for children with asthma. The Lung Cancer Discovery Grant provides funding for investigators seeking to develop novel medical treatments or a cure for lung cancer. With the goal to raise even more this year, the family is looking for sponsors. Donations of any amount or value are appreciated. Crafters sought for bazaar Crafters are being sought for the annual St. John's Bazaar to be held Saturday, Sept. 9, on the Townsend Common. Cost is $50 to rent a table to display your wares. Useful plants ... facts & folklore Useful Plants; Edibles and Medicinals; Facts and Folklore" will be presented by herbalist Joanie MacPhee, of Townsend, Sunday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. Explore part of Townsend State Forest off of South Row Road in Townsend. Participants should meet at the Hannaford Supermarket parking lot on Route 119 across from North Middlesex Regional High School to carpool to the site.
