Overlook runners kick off new season

The Overlook Boys and Girls Cross Country Team kicked off the new season against Gardner at Dunn Park.

The Overlook boys won the race 15 to 48. Eighth-grader Ethan Beauregard set the new Gardner course record in the time of 8:37. Overlook took the first five places with sixth-grader Derek Andrews finishing second; Eric Ouellette, in third; Christian Robichaud, in fourth and Toby Belton, in fifth. Also finishing in the top 10 were Time Steussy, Calvin Young, and Tyler Simach.

The Overlook Girls lost a close race 27 to 28. Mary Regan came in fourth, followed by Colleen Mulligan in fifth, Krysta Zbikowski in sixth, Jennifer Burke in seventh, Kerry Kupcinskas in eighth, Sadie Zbikowski in ninth, and Lauren Ouellete in 10th.

Forty-six Overlook students entered the race. Congratulations to all for a great first effort.
