Sunday, Sept. 24, 2 p.m. -Drawing From Nature Workshop led by Deborah Prince Smith,

Townsend resident, artist and illustrator of DonaldStokes' naturebooks. Bringdrawing pad, pencils, eraser and bug repellant. Meet at Pearl Hill State Park parking lot on New Fitchburg Road in West Townsend. Call Deborah for more information at (978) 597-2204.

Saturday, Sept. 30 - Nashua River Rail Trail Day Join DCR and the Friends for a fun-filled day of programs and activities along the NRRT, from Ayer to Dunstable. Bike safety, bird watching, plant identification and various children's activities, including a visit from Smokey Bear, will be available at certain points along the trail. Times and specific locations to be announced.

Sunday,Oct. 8,12:30-2:30 -Kite Flying Day at Pearl Hill State Park. Bring your own kite, or make a kite a tour kite-flyingday! All materials will be supplied free of charge by Friends of Willard Brook. The easy-to make kites are appropriate for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by adults. Sunday,Oct.15,10:00a.m. - Hike Mt. Watatic Trails with Bill Stanwood. Hike about five miles and two hours in Bill's "backyard" as you explore some of the northern trails of Watatic including parts of the Wapack Trail. Learn about area history.
