Public Library ready for fall events

Toddler Storytime

The Townsend Public Library will be holding a Toddler Storytime for children 2-4 years old. Siblings of any age are welcome. This storytime will be held on Tuesdays, Sept. 26, Oct. 31 at 10:30 a.m. in room 1 of Memorial Hall.

Babysitter's Training Course

The American Red Cross of North Central Massachusetts will be hosting a Babysitter's Training Course on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in room 2 of Memorial Hall.

This popular course teaches youth ages 11 and older the responsibilities and qualities of being a good babysitter, in addition to what is expected from the person who hires them. It is ideal for current and future babysitters!

The class teaches students the best ways to be safe and keep children in their care safe. It provides a fun, interactive environment that brings confidence and life skills to your child. There is no pressure or stress, just an esteem-building education that participating youth will use throughout their lives.

Writers' group

Are you writing a novel? A Children's Book? Something else? Would you like some support? Network with other writers. Bring what you are working on and have other writers share their experiences and give you feedback. The group is open to adults.

The program will be held in room 1 of Memorial Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Townsend Public Library will be having their annual book sale on Friday, Oct. 13, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. It will be held in the Town Hall Annex (between the library and Memorial Hall).

Buy a Townsend Public Library book bag for $10 and fill it with as many books as will fit for free.

Please do not bring donations on the day of the sale and no early birds.
