Monty Tech students earn Adams scholarship awards Over four dozen Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School seniors are eligible to receive four-year tuition scholarships to the state university system after achieving high marks on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exams. The seniors who will be receiving an Adams Scholarship are: Ashburnham residents Christin Caruso and Gregory Giannetti; Ashby resident Samantha Tiilikkala; and Westminste residents Brittney Covey, Sarah Mathieu and Kaitlyn Therrien. Other area students include Corey Acord, Joseph Berthiaume, Albert Welch, Adriana Agosto, Adam Brooks, Alexander Coderre, Krystie Cormier, Jordan Dumais, Corey Gustafson, Ingram Hernandez, Dawn Hurst, Kimberly Perry, Alysa Romano, Toua Yang, Nicholas Beauregard, Matthew Gray, Heather Reilly, Lauren Koenig, Janna Malo, Stephanie Mellor, Amanda Robinson, Steffan Welch, Krystal Blevins, Daniel Grossman, Kevin Perkins, Corey St. Jean, Jeffrey Miller, Royalston-Andrew Parnanen, Ryan Peters, Jessica Putney, Sterling-Christopher Adoretti, Nicholas Bull, Lindsey Johnson, Heather Rugg, Jordan Smiley, Alexander Szymcik, Kelly Adams, Jeremy daSilva, Michael Desmarais, Michelle Parmenter, Christopher Roy, Kyle Schoales and Jake Swenson. Monty Tech seniors are among 13,000 students in the state to receive John and Abigail Adams Scholarships through the state Department of Education. This is the third year the scholarships have been awarded. Students who either score "advanced" on English/language arts or math and "proficient" on the other on the grade 10 MCAS, or "advanced" in both the English and math exams; and be in the top 25 percent of the students in the district on the MCAS are granted the scholarship. - Submitted to The Journal. |
