Family thanks all for supporting memorial golf tournament

The family of Bob Leblanc of West Townsend would like to thank local businesses, families and friends for their sponsorship and participation in the second annual Robert J. Leblanc "Rotten Robert" Memorial Golf Tournament held on Sept. 9 at Townsend Ridge Country Club in West Townsend. The tournament raised more than $4,000 this year. As planned, the family donated $500 to Camp Chest Nut, a summer camp for children with asthma - enough to send one child to the camp - and the remaining proceeds to the American Lung Association Lung Cancer Discovery Grant - which provides funding for investigators seeking to develop novel medical treatments or a cure for lung cancer.

The family of Robert J. Leblanc organized the annual golf tournament in his honor as a fundraiser for the American Lung Association and Camp Chest Nut. Bob or "Rotten Robert" as many affectionately call him passed away in December 2004 after a battle with lung cancer. The first tournament was held in September 2005.
