Mr. Mike's grants WES gift

Mr. Mike's Manager Deb Mykel presents the $500 check from the ExxonMobil grant program to Westminster Elementary School Principal David Marble and Ashburnham-Westminster Superintendent of Schools Michael Zapantis on Oct. 17.
Westminster Elementary School received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program to support the third-grade trip to Plimoth Plantation.

Deb Mykel, the manager of the Mr. Mike's store on Village Inn Road worked with school officials to secure the grant, which is one of 4,000 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations. The grants were made possible by the money from the corporation.

The program is designed to provide the gas retailers with an opportunity to invest the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.

Mykel met stringent eligibility criteria before applying for and being award this grant, including having a commitment to provide a superior buying experience for customers.

Mykel said she thinks the school has received the district for more than 15 years.
