WESTMINSTER - Dorothy E. (Welch) Hicks, 86, of 41 Bacon St., died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, after being stricken ill.

Mrs. Hicks was born in East Templeton on Nov. 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Sweeny) Welch. She was a graduate of Templeton High School.

She worked for the former Roger's Clothing Store in Fitchburg, and also for Digital Equipment Co. in Westminster. She was a life member of the Westminster Historical Society.

Mrs. Hicks leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Hicks) and Peter Yraola of Westminster; one granddaughter, Kimberly Yraola of Westminster; one grandson, Michael Yraola of Cumberland, Maine; one sister, Gertrude Yablonski of Gardner; and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Raefield M. Hicks who died in 1983. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Welch and Madeline Walsh; and one brother Joseph Welch.
