PAT (Pepperell-Ashby-Townsend) hockey update Players of the Week: Offense: Richie Sharp; Defense: David Hurley; Hustle: Tim Bernard Mite 2 (Gardner League) PAT 3 Gardner I 10 The PAT Mite 2 team continued to discover goal tending talent as Kelty "Sparky" Delaney made a fantastic showing in net Sunday. All these kids did a super job haunting their opponents; excellent game again by all. Goals were scored by Matthew McCarthy and McKayla Briggs. Players of the Week: Offense: Matthew McCarthy, McKayla Briggs; Defense: Joe Sheridan; Hustle: Hunter Newsham Squirt 1 PAT 7 Nashoba 4 The Squirt 1 team faced off against a tenacious Nashoba team. Joshua Miller got the party started in the first period lighting the lamp just two minutes into the contest setting the tone for the game. Tyler McLaren must be working hard in the driveway because his wrist shot was ripping hard allowing him to record his first hat trick of the season. Jay Cobleigh set the tone on defense flying around the oval like his favorite driver Jeff Gordon, without fear but always under control. Players of the week: Offense - Tyler McLaren; Defense - Jay Cobleigh; Hustle - James Muenier SQUIRTS 2 PAT 2 Reading 3 In this first of two weekend match-ups with Reading, PAT jumped to a 1-0 lead with a goal by Justin Packard, assisted by Jake MacMaster and Sean Mullen. Andrew Haluska and Kyle Joy worked hard to keep the puck away from goalie Brandon Donohoe. T.J. Melanson picked up an unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2, but a late thirdperiod score put the game away for Reading. SQUIRTS 2 PAT 3 Reading 8 PAT showed big hustle in this tough loss to Reading. Michael Meehan and Greg Howell kept on the puck through all three periods. Josh McLeman and Justin Kauppi put pressure on the Reading goalie, while Bailey Delaney and Kyle Joy covered the blue line. T.J. Melanson, Brenden Barry, and Jake Macmaster scored for PAT, with Delaney and McLeman picking up assists.
