Anna May, 92 TOWNSEND - Anna (Hebb) May, 92, of Main Street, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at her home. She was the wife of the late Frederick G. May, Jr. She was born in Gasperaux, Nova Scotia, Canada, on April 8, 1914, the daughter of Whitman and Gladys (Collins) Hebb, and moved to Townsend from Framingham in 1947. She graduated from Framingham High School in 1932. She first worked as a clerk and then an assistant post mistress for the U.S. Postal Service, Townsend branch, for about 25 years before retiring. She was the founder and director of the Golden Smoothies, which formed in 1981, and then went on to become the director emeritus; she was also a member of the Townsend Couples Club, Townsend Women's Club as well as being active in the Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. May is survived by her son, Frederick G. May III of Townsend; one daughter, Louise T. Strong and her husband Stephen of Benson, Ariz.; one sister, June Hall of West Bridgewater; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ida Murray and Mary Hebb and was predeceased by two stepdaughters, Martha Deroian and Mary Linquist. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Townsend Congregational Church, Brookline Street, Townsend Center. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. T.J.
