Overlook Cross Country sets course records

Th e fastest and most exciting girls' cross-country race ever on the Overlook course took place on Oct. 19 against Hawthorne Brooke.

The first four girls either broke or tied the course record and the fifth girls was only one second behind. Lauren Connor of Hawthorne Brook broke the course record by 10 seconds and Jennifer Burke finished second and broke Sadie Germaine's course record by five seconds.

Krysta Zbikowski tied the course record finishing fourth. Colleen Mulligan ran her fastest time finishing sixth. All of the Overlook girls ran their best times of the year in this phenomenal race. They included in order Lauren Ouellette, Kerry Kupcinskas, Sadie Zbikowski, Hayley Barry and Meghan Horgan. The boys' cross country team ran their record to 12 wins and one loss as they easily handled Hawthorne Brooke on Oct. 19.

They are only the second Overlook team ever to have five runners under 11 minutes in the same race. Those runners were Ethan Beauregard, Eric Ouellette, Tobey Belton, Christian Robichaud and Calvin Young, with Robin Murray missing by a second. It was an awesome performance. Eric Fagnant and Tim Steussy also were right aroudn the 11 minute mark. Running their fastest times of the year at this last home meet were Christian Robichaud, Calvin Young, Robin Murray, Justin McGeeney, Troy Richardson, Ben Weiderman, Taylor Breau, Elan Jackson and Zach Forgues.
