Society's annual meeting to be held

The Townsend Historical Society Annual Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in the Townsend Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, 5 Brookline St.

A brief meeting and election of officers will take place followed by author and lecturer Michael Tougias.

Tougias is a highly regarded guide on historic places and the natural beauty of Massachusetts and the New England area. He is the author of several travel guidebooks. His book, co-authored with Eric B. Schultz, "King Philip's War: The History

and Legacy of America's F o r g o t t e n Conflict," will be the focus of his talk.
