Police issue parking reminder

The Townsend Police Department would like to remind drivers that a winter parking ban has taken effect this month.

The parking ban prohibits any motor vehicle from being parked on a public way between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. from Wednesday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, April 1.

The police department wants to remind drivers that vehicles found in violation will be ticketed and fined $15.

Those vehicles directly hampering snow removal will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
