Community Notes Rotary holds wine tasting and Christmas shopping event The Ashburnham/Westminster Rotary Club is hosting a Wine and Chocolate Tasting Benefit at the Wachusett Village Inn on Friday, Nov. 17, 5 to 9pm. Also featured will be beer tasting, light hors d'oeuvres and music by Westminster musician Jeremy Steinbring. In addition to these pleasures the event will also feature a vendor showcase for de-stressed holiday shopping. The Rotary Club has invited a variety of local businesses, artists and entrepreneurs to display and sell their goods or services. Tickets to this event are $15 per person or $25 for a couple. Tickets are available at the Village Inn or by calling Brenda Ruffiange at (978) 874-0981. Also all Riffiange if you are interested in a table in our vendor showcase. A portion of the proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit W.A.V.E. Inc. (Westminster-Ashburnham Value Education) an educational foundation serving our two towns. Historical Society announces next program Due to a scheduling conflict there will be no program for the Westminster Historical Society during the month of November. The next program will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Westminster Historical Society, 110 Main St. Wayne Klemetti will present slides and speak about automobiles made prior to World War II. He will present some of the history of automobiles of this period and the development of the auto industry. Please note the change. Open to the public, free, refreshments served. Aspiring artists to hold weekly meetings Circle of Artists is a group of aspiring artists from Westminster and surrounding communities that meet twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the American Legion Hall/Westminster Senior Center, located at 127 Main St. Members of this group explore art in a diversity of media that include watercolor, pastel, oil, colored pencil, collage and photography.
