NRWA presents "Winter Discovery Series" for children

GROTON - The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) presents its first annual Winter Discovery Series, an after-school nature program geared toward children ages 6 to 8. This winter's specific program is based on learning about nature through exploration and discovery in the wonderful winter environment. The group will meet from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for six Wednesdays this winter _ Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, Dec. 20, Jan. 3, and Jan. 10. The program will be held at the NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main Street (Rt. 119) Groton. The fees for the full program are $120 for NRWA members; $150 for non-members. Individual day enrollment may be available, but full series enrollment will have priority. "Support Our Troops" drop off location announced

GARDNER - Liberty Way Real Estate, located at 196 Main St., will be the drop off location for "Support Our Troops" holiday collection. Items must be dropped off on or before Nov. 27. Items needed include Gatorade drink mix, beef jerky, hand wipes, raisins, hard candies, nuts, disposable cameras, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, fruit snacks, prepackaged cookies, cereal bars, phone cards, and sandwich bags (no gift-wrapped items, no chocolate, no baked goods).
