Annie J. (Halloran) Rajaniemi, 85 WESTMINSTER - Annie J. (Halloran) Rajaniemi, 85, of 164 State Road East, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, in Keystone Nursing Home, Leominster, after a long illness, with her family at her side. She was born in Tramore, County Waterford, Ireland, on Sept. 23, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Annie (Houlihan) OHalloran and lived in Westminster for the past five years. She was educated in Tramore, Ireland, and as a young adult moved to Swansea, Wales with her parents and her siblings. During World War II, she was employed in the munitions industry. She immigrated to the United States with two of her children in 1947. Mrs. Rajaniemi was employed at Burbank Hospital and in later years at the Fairlawn Nursing Home. She leaves one son, Michael Halloran, and his wife, Sharon, of Westminster; three daughters, Pauline A. Gilbert, and her husband, Walter, of Fitchburg, Christine M. Lamey, and her husband, Thomas, of Fitchburg, and Arleen J. Goguen, and her husband, Ronald, of Brewster; two brothers, Gerard O'Halloran of Swansea, Wales, Great Britain and Kevin O'Halloran of Skewen, Wales, Great Britain; two sisters, Mary Pearce of Cardiff, Wales, Great Britain and Katherine O'Halloran, of Swansea, Wales, Great Britain; 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline Bernard of Winthrop, Kevin Bernard and Lisa Plourde, both of Leominster, Shawn Halloran of Mullican Hill, N.J., Kelly Pavinelli of Northport, N.Y., Thomas P. Lamey of Leominster, Patrick Lamey of Arlington, Matthew Lamey of Fitchburg, Molly Goguen of Brewster, and Ronald Goguen of Tampa, Florida. She was very proud of her 14 great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter. Her husband of 41 years, Matti Rajaniemi Jr., died in December of 1991. She was also predeceased by her twin brother, Victor M. O'Halloran, brothers, John and Patrick O'Halloran, and her sisters Noleen O'Halloran, Bernadette Matthews and Pauline Parker. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Diversified Nursing Services Hospice, 25 Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453. The Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home directed arrangements. |
