Upcoming events TAYSA annual meeting The Townsend Ashby Youth Soccer Association annual meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at North Middlesex Regional High School. The executive board welcomes all parents/guardians of participating TAYSA players to attend this annual meeting. We will be reviewing this year's past events, looking ahead to next year and electing/ appointing some board positions. TAYSA spring 2007 soccer registration Townsend Ashby Youth Soccer Association Spring 2007 Registration is open until Wednesday, Jan. 31. We will have registration for the spring season on two Saturdays, Jan. 6 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Middlesex Regional High School. The fee is $45/player. A late fee of $15/player will be added for any registration received after Jan. 31. Also, placement on a team for a late registered player will be on an available only basis. This registration notice also applies to any high school level player. Interested high school players need to contact Brian Hart at secretary@taysa.org or Scott Winton, directly, or via e-mail at president@taysa.org, or at (978) 597-5850, the TAYSA phone line. January baseball clinic offered at FSC Midwest Baseball Academy, which operates a national network of affordable hitting and pitching camps for players and grades 1 through 12, is pleased to announce the addition of Fitchburg to its line up for the coming winter and spring. Registration is now under way at www.MidwestBaseballAcademy. com. The season in Fitchburg runs January 21 to February 25 at Fitchburg State College. Registration deadlines are approximately six weeks before each session begins, but last years camps sold out much earlier. Because of the low player-coach ratio, spots in each session are limited. Complete details and times for each site, as well as registration forms, are available online at www.MidwestBaseballAcademy.com or calling 1-866-MBA-HITS. Winter baseball clinics at WSC Worcester State College offers a series of Winter Baseball Clinics with one of the best staffs anywhere. The skills clinic runs three days over the holiday vacation covering hitting, pitching, defense, base running, and conditioning. The weeknight hitting and pitching allow a total focus on each skill for three hours. These nightly sessions run for three consecutive weekend evenings. The aim is to teach the essentials of pitching, hitting, and defense/base running. Kids are separated by age. It costs $30 per session of $75 per clinic.
