Four Townsend students prepare for SkillsUSA competition

Nashoba Valley Technical High School has assembled one of its largest teams in recent memory for upcoming SkillsUSA competitions, with more than 43 students participating.

Townsend residents Alicia Amadon, a sophomore, Christopher Banks a sophomore, Teela Delaney, a sophomore, and Joseph Keenan, a sophomore are members of the schools SkillsUSA team.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure that America has a skilled work force. It serves more than 280,000 students and teachers annually. Nashoba Tech's chapter is one of more than 13,000 school chapters

Students compete in several different skill categories at the district level. Those who qualify go on to the state competition next spring, and the top three in each category there qualify for the nationals.
