"Step Back in Time" at Reed Homestead holiday open house

The Townsend Historical Society annual Holiday Open House will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Reed Homestead, 72 Main St. (Route 119) Townsend.

Costumed docents will give tours of the circa. 1809 house and do hands-on applesauce making at the hearth fireplace.

Quilts and needlework from needle artist Joan Leahy Blanchard's private collection will decorate the house and holiday cookies, punch and the freshly made applesauce will be offered.

The Reed Homestead Open House is an invitation for everyone to come for a visit that takes you back in time. It is free of charge and will be enjoyable for children and adults alike. For more information, call the society at (978)597-2106.

Townsend T.E.O. Food Drive

The Townsend Ecumenical Outreach (TEO) reaches out to Townsend seniors and families in times of need. This year, as in previous years, will be hard for some families. TEO needs your help! Please send in your non-perishable items and paper goods to Spaulding Memorial School to help make the holiday better for others. Students may place items in the container outside the school office.
