Thayer Symphony to treat audience to a holiday musical journey this weekend

The Thayer Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Toshimasa Francis Wada, continues its popular Holiday pops concert series by offering two performances - a Holiday Pops Matinee at 3:30 p.m. and an evening Holiday Pops at 8 p.m. - on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Stratos G. Dukakis Performing Arts Center, Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, Route 2A, Fitchburg. Both performances will feature "A Crisscross Christmas" by Village Theater Project.

The performance will be a historical musical perspective celebrating the season starting in the mid-1800s. Concert-goers will be treated to a musical journey with imaginative performers from the Village Theatre Project. The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-along and a visit from Santa Claus.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The matinee is sponsored by Fidelity Bank, the evening is sponsored by Worker's Credit Union.

For more information, or to purchase tickets in advance, call Debbi Brown at (978) 466-1800, Ext. 11. Tickets will also be sold at the box office one-hour prior to the concert.
