TOWNSEND - Martha L. (Spaulding) Kolesar, 79, of 68 Fitchburg Road, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at her home surrounded by her sister and caregivers.

She was born in Townsend on Dec. 5, 1926, the daughter of Richard and Lillian G. (Stewart) Spaulding and resided many years in Princeton, Maine before returning to Townsend in 1983.

Mrs. Kolesar had worked at the former Foster Grant Company in Leominster.

She was a talented woodworker and made beautiful braided rugs.

Mrs. Kolesar leaves a long-time friend and relative, Sally Ann Williams and her family of Connecticut. She was the wife of John C. Kolesar who died in 1983.

T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
