Rice files legislation offering tax credit for voluntary installation of ignition interlock device in cars
      State Representative Robert L. Rice, Jr. (D-Gardner) announced he filed legislation to grant a tax credit of $1,500 for people who voluntarily purchase, or lease, a factory-installed certified ignition interlock device for their car.

Girl Scout Troop to hold Preschool Reading Night; registration required
      Ashby Junior Girl Scout Troop #759 will be holding a Preschool Reading Night at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Ashby Public Library. The Girl Scouts will read and perform the story "The Mitten" by Jan Brett with an art activity to follow. The group will be limited to 12 children; ages 3- to 5- years-old (no sibllings please). Library announces scholarship program
      The Ashby Free Public Library Board of Trustees are pleased to announce the Laptop Computer Volunteer Scholarship Program. The first eight lucky secondary school students, ages 13 and older, residing in the Town of Ashby who complete a commitment of 60 hours of volunteer library service by Aug. 1, are eligible to receive a refurbished Laptop Computer from the Ashby Free Public Library.
