      Top Story: Selectmen voted to appoint 15 members to the Economic Development Study Committee. The committee will work with a consultant hired to try to determine what types of commercial businesses the town should seek out and where they could be located.

Town Hall move dates sets
      Selectmen voted on Monday, Jan. 29, to close the Town Hall to help facilitate the move from Bacon Street to the new town hall on South Street in February. Town hall will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 15, and Friday, Feb. 16, while employees move the computers, phones and files from one building to the other. The offices will also be closed on Monday, Feb. 19, for the President's Day Holiday.

      When he spoke to a group of residents worried about the possibility of a registered sex offender living in their neighborhood, state Rep. Lew Evangelidis realized a distinct lack of public understanding about the sex offender laws. He hopes to remedy that.
