Marching Spartans take to Main Street USA

The full band was photographed during their recent trip to Disney World.
The Oakmont-Overlook High School Marching Spartans strutted their stuff down Main Street, U.S.A. at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, on Dec. 9.

The band traveled to Disney from Massachusetts to take part in Disney Magic Music Days and perform for an international audience of Theme Park guests.

The group performed prior to the "Disney Dreams Come True" parade, where thousands of guests were lined-up along the streets of the Magic Kingdom, awaiting the start of the parade.

High school and middle school marching bands have been performing at the Walt Disney World Resort since the park's opening day.

The Marching Spartans have had a stand out year this year. They were one of five bands to earn the gold medal at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association's Marching Band Festival.

The group is judged on musical sound, visual assemblies (the Color Guard), marching techniques, as well as percussion and overall performance.

The band competed in the Division 3 level at state championship which were held in Lowell in November.
