Editorial Do you know the future governor? Do you know the future CEO of a Fortune 500 company, the next star teacher or a community volunteer in the making? The leaders of this country grow up in someone's backyard, why not check your own. We are looking for young adults in Ashburnham, Westminster, Ashby and Townsend whose actions today show their leadership in the future. There are very few instances when a young adult can be publicly honored for his or her service to the community, their academic standings and their ability to be a role model for their peers. One of these chances is with the upcoming Future Leaders section of The Community Journal. We are looking for the members of the community - you our readers - to tell us who will lead our world through the first half of the 21st Century. Leaders come in all forms and from all areas of life. A student can be a leader in the school through the student council, National Honor Society or other advisory groups. A young adult can lead in the workplace by showing ingenuity. He or she can be a standout artist, volunteer or athlete. Please send us your nominations today. Take the time to show the young adult in your life how proud you are of their actions. We are looking for young adults between 16 and 21 years old. You can either send the nomination through e-mail to editor@thecommunityjournal. com with a subject line "Future Leaders" or through the mail to The Community Journal, P.O. Box 67, Ashburnham, MA 01430. As part of your nomination please include the nominee's contact information and the school the nominee attends. Please also tell us a little about the person, such as hobbies and interests, awards and honors, jobs, academic interests and plans, athletic pursuits, etc. If you have any questions please call (978) 827-3386. The special section of the paper will be distributed on Feb. 22, so now is the time to make sure your future leader is recognized. |
