Marchand Nashoba Tech Student of the Month

Michael Marchand of Townsend has been named Student of the Month for December at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

Marchand, son of Jim and Tara Marchand, is a junior in the carpentry program. He is an honor-roll student and plays football and baseball for Nashoba Tech. Marchand hopes to become a police officer and is considering joining the Air Force upon graduation.

Marchand was nominated by carpentry instructor Anthony Cerra, who said, "Michael is an outstanding person and a pleasure to have as a carpentry student. He works hard and is always willing to help with community projects."

That nomination was seconded by Spanish teacher Russell Mann, who said, "He is one of my top students. This well-mannered, hard-working, conscientious young man is a pleasure to have in class," and by English teacher John McDonnell, who said Michael is an "excellent choice."
