Oakmont Booster Club presents comedy hypnosis show

The Oakmont Booster Club is proud to present "Steve Wronker's Funny Business Comedy Hypnosis Show" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, in Oakmont Regional High School, 9 Oakmont Ave. Tickets are $15 for general admission; $20 for reserved VIP seating, and can be purchased at the school office or by calling Barbara DiVito at (978) 827-3215 or Karen Mattus at (978) 827-5359. If tickets do not sell out prior to the performance, they will be available at the door one hour before the show begins. A pre-show spaghetti supper will be hosted by the Oakmont Girls' Basketball team in the Oakmont cafeteria, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $5 each and $3 for children 10 and under.

The Reunion Committee for Oakmont Regional High School's Class of 1982 is in the early planning stages for its 25th Year Reunion, to be scheduled later this summer or early fall. Ashburnham Council on Aging to host activities; announces upcoming trips

The Ashburnham Council on Aging, located at 1 Memorial Drive, announces the following information:

Transportation is provided Monday through Friday mornings through the afternoon. Town seniors and those with disabilities can have the van pick them up at their door and bring them wherever they need to go in the tri-city area - medical appointments, rehabilitation, shopping, errands, lunch, the hair dresser, etc. Call (978) 827-5000 to schedule the transportation.

Line Dancing classes are available Mondays at 10 a.m. Classes are designed to help beginners or returning line dancers. No charge for Ashburnham residents and their friends; newomers are always welcome! No reservations needed.

Seniors are invited to sign up for the "Tax Work Off Program." The program matches eligible senior workers in Ashburnham to town departments that need their skills. Property tax bill reductions for each hour the senior works up to $750.

Bingo is held every Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Lunch is served daily; with a donation of $2. Call (978) 827-5000 for menu or reservations.

The Ashburnham Forever Young Club is planning a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto June 25 to 29, via Diamond Tours. The trip includes four nights lodging, eight meals (four breakfasts and four dinners), guided tours of Niagara Falls and Toronto, a journey to the Falls on "The Maid of the Mist," gaming at Fallsview Casino, a visit to Niagara-on-the- Lake and Queen Victoria Park and a visit to Casa Lomas, Canada's most magnificent castle. Forever Young Club to meet on Feb. 5

The Forever Young Club of Ashburnham will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the Senior Center. Eddie Raymond will present a program of comedy and magic.

The club met on Jan. 8 at the Senior Center. Herschel Hall played a variety of selections on the piano, which were enjoyed by all. The officers for 2007 were installed, as follows: President, Althea Donahue; First Vice-President, Janice Hebb; Second Vice-President, Betty Bushee; Secretary, Louise Reid; Treasurer, Virginia Nussey; and Auditors, Priscilla Gallon and Pauline Roger.

Louise Reid hosts book sale to benefit Bresnahan Center and food pantries

Louise Reid will host a series of Speciality Book Sales - to benefit the Bresnahan Center and the Food Pantries - at the Ashburnham Senior Center, 1 Memorial Drive, on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon during the month of February.

Each week a different series of topics will be offered for sale with the following schedule. On Feb. 1, 2, and 3 - Romances; on Feb. 8, 9, and 10 - Mysteries and True Crime; on Feb. 15, 16, and 17 - Espionage, Horror, War & Science Fiction; and on Feb. 22, 23, 24 - General & Historical Fiction, Short Stories, and Classics.

Louise wishes to thank everyone who has supported her efforts both through the donation and purchase of books. Any donations of adult paperback fiction, children's books, cook books, or craft books can be left at the Senior Center for her.
