Kenneth E. Leger, 83
Was U.S. Veteran; enjoyed spending time with family

ASHBURNHAM - Kenneth E. Leger, 83, of 57 Corey Hill Road, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after complications due to pneumonia.

Mr. Leger was a retired research chemist for Fitchburg Paper and James River Paper Company and was a Veteran of World War II serving with the Navy Air Force.

He was an active member of St. Denis Parish, served many years on the Ashburnham Planning Board, enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Leger was surrounded by family members which includes Margaret, his wife of 53 years and six children, Elizabeth L. Chase and her husband Charlie of Barre, Thomas Leger and his wife Lorie of Couer d'Alene, Id., Karen Tinger of West Boylston, Judy Collins and her husband Chuck of Shoreline, Wa., Stephen E. Leger Sr. and his wife Pamela of Orange, and Paul K. Leger and his wife Wendy of New Ipswich, N.H.; along with 22 grandchildren and one great-grandaughter. He is also survived by two brothers, Arnie and Bernie Leger and three sisters, June Trudeau, Jean Almeida and Carol Aversa. Two brothers, Donald and Leo Leger, predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart and Wellness Center, Division of Cardiology, U.M.M.H.C. 55 Lake Avenue North, Worcester, MA 01655.
