Fitchburg's Samantha Bonanno (center), 13, and Jessica Falconer (right), 10, were one of over 40 dancers who participated in the New York City Dance Alliance's convention and competition, held last month at Boston's Hynes Convention Center. Dancers took master classes from the country's finest dance teachers, with auditions for scholarships offered by NYCDA taking place on Sunday. Bonanno, who is part of The Dance Center in Winchendon, was named outstanding dancer runnerup in the Junior Division at the event. Falconer, also of the Dance Center, was outstanding dancer runner-up in the Mini Division. Their Dance Center colleague, Ana Bracken (left), was outstanding dancer winner for the mini division.
