Community Notes Ashburnham Council on Aging announces upcoming plans The Ashburnham Council on Aging, 1 Memorial Drive, provides transportation Monday through Friday mornings through afternoon. Town seniors and those with disabilities can have the van pick them up at their door and bring them wherever they need to go in the tri-city area. Line Dancing classes are offered each Monday at 10 a.m. Classes are designed to help beginners or returning line dancers. No charge for Ashburnham residents and their friends. Newcomers are welcome; no reservations needed. A Beginners Computer Class will be offered each Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning March 7 (note the change in date). This is truly a beginner's class for those who have little or no computer experience. No cost to Ashburnham seniors and guests. Seniors are invited to sign up for the Tax Work Off Program which matches eligible senior workers in Ashburnham to town departments that need their skills. Property tax bill reductions are given for each hour the senior works up to $750. Run by the Council on Aging. Join the Ashburnham COA each Tuesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with your favorite needlecraft project. Bingo is played each Wednesday at 1 p.m. Lunch served daily, for a donation of $2. Ashburnham seniors have been invited to attend a comic show called "Hats Off to Seniors" at noon Friday, March 9. Folk singer and storyteller, Tim van Emond gets rave reviews for his hilarious performance of songs, stories, and poems all celebrating seniors. Pizza served, cost is $2. For van rides, please reserve at least a day before. Sponsored by Templeton Cultural Council and run by Templeton COA. The Ashburnham Forever Young Club is planning a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto June 25 through June 29 via Diamond Tours. The trip includes four nights lodging; eight meals (four breakfasts and four dinners), guided tours of Niagara Falls and Toronto, a journey to the Falls on "The Maid of the Mist," gaming at Fallsview Casino, a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Queen Victoria Park and a visit to Casa Lomas, Canada's most magnificent castle. The Wilson Bus Lines departs from St. Anne's Church, Ashburnham at 7 a.m. and from Mary Kane Building in Gardner at 7:15 a.m. Cost per person is $24. Upon arrival each person will receive $10 for food or free buffet and $10 for a free bet (subject to change without notice). Vendors sought for indoor flea market Vendors are needed for the March Madness Indoor Flea Market to be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Ashburnham Community Church, Route 12, Ashburnham. Table space of approximately 10- by 10-foot, with 6-to 8-foot table provided. Spaces available for $15. Set-up will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2.
