Golden Age Club to host luncheon and show

The Townsend Golden Age Club is hosting a luncheon and show on Thursday, March 15, at the Bull Run Restaurant, Route 2A, Shirley. Dinner is at noon, followed by the show at 1 p.m. Cost for non-members is $22. Some members will be meeting at the Townsend Senior Center at 11 a.m. and car-pooling to the restaurant at 11:30 p.m. Please contact Connie Giles at (978) 597-5420 or Avis Roy at (978) 597-6829 for reservations and/or more information.

Local church to celebrate "World Day of Prayer"

The Townsend United Methodist Church will celebrate "World Day of Prayer" from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 2, at the church, located at 265 Main St., Townsend. Everyone from the surrounding communities is invited. Church members will welcome all who wish to come for prayer and meditation.
