Vintage Book Sale available at local library

Visit the Friends of the Townsend Public Library's continuous book sale area, and look at the vintage books they have for sale. The books are just $1 each. Some of these vintage books were part of the library's collection long ago.

Evangelidis announces committee assignments

State Rep. Lew Evangelidis (R-Holden) has been reappointed to the House Committee on Ways and Means for the 2007-2008 legislative session. The committee is responsible for drafting the House budget proposal as well as other spending initiatives. Evangelidis was also reappointed to the Judiciary Committee. He has also been appointed to the Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture.

Buy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

Buy a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from the Friends of the Townsend Public Library and pick it up at midnight on Saturday, July 21. The book is being offered at a discounted price of $19. Sign up at the library; payment is required. Order by Saturday, June 30. Show up on Friday, July 20, at 11 p.m. for activities, snacks and fun. Costumes welcome.
