WESTMINSTER - Elsie M. (Niemi) Robichaud, 73, of 251 Worcester Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, following an illness. Born in Fitchburg on Jan. 22, 1934, she was the daughter of Kasper and Hilma (Koski) Niemi and was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Robichaud graduated from Fitchburg High School and later from the Stevens Business College and Mount Wachusett Community College.

She worked for many years at the former Foster Grant Co. in Leominster and the former Digital Equipment Co. in Westminster. She belonged to the former Finnish co-op and enjoyed gardening, bird watching and traveling.

Mrs. Robichaud is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roger D. Robichaud; two sons, Mark Robichaud of Westminster and Michael Robichaud of Ashburnham; a daughter, Debra Ray of Belchertown; two brothers, Waino Niemi of Westminster and Arvo Niemi of Florida; as well as five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private and graveside services in the Woodside Cemetery will be at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Smith Funeral Home Inc.
