Cecile (Castor) McAuliff, 89 ASHBY - Cecile (Castor) McAuliff, 89, recently of Ashby, formerly of Springfield, Ill. and Indianapolis, Ind., died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in Mass General Hospital, after an illness. She was born on July 23, 1917, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Fitzgibbon) Castor. She lived in Brooklyn with her husband in the early years of their marriage before moving to the Midwest. She dedicated herself to her family and enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and traveling. Mrs. McAuliff leaves her four sons, John McAuliff and his wife Mary McDonnell of Irvington, N.Y., Peter McAuliff of Melbourne, Fla., Andrew McAuliff and his wife Anne of Waterville, Maine, and Stephen McAuliff and his wife Linda of Springfield, Ill.; her two daughters, Alison Pantesco and her husband Victor of Swanzey, N.H., and Debra Maloney and her husband James of Ashby, with whom Mrs. McAuliff lived; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, John McAuliff died in 1971. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Ann McAuliff, her brother, Joseph Castor, and her sister, Phyllis Castor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Brandon Funeral Home directed arrangements. |
