In Katrina's wake
Emily Lewis, daughter of Roy and Cherie Lewis of Westminster, spent Winter Break recently volunteering with the Edmundite Communities in New Orleans, La., through the Saint Michael's College alternative break/ extended service program.

While in New Orleans, volunteers worked with Catholic Charities to help clean up after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The volunteers spent time gutting houses and working with retired couples. At the end of their week in New Orleans, the volunteers toured downtown New Orleans, Bourbon Street and Jackson Square.
Lewis, a senior classics major at Saint Michael's, is a graduate of Oakmont Regional High School.
