Charleen (Croff) Hayward, 84
She was born in Leominster on Sept. 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Hugh B. and J. Frances (Smith) Croff. She had lived in Westminster from 1962 until 2006, before moving to Townsend. She was a graduate of Gardner High School in 1940, and a graduate of Becker College in Worcester earning an associate's degree. Mrs. Hayward worked for the Town of Westminster for 21-1/2 years, in the Treasurer's Office as a Clerk. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Westminster, a member of the Woman's Fellowship at the church, a member of the church's choir and the Chime Choir, and was very involved with church suppers and the annual fall festival. She was also a member of the Westminster Historical Society, the Westminster Senior Center Craft Group, the Westminster Friendship Club, a member of the Girl Scouts of America, and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Squaw-No-Cook Camping Chapter, and a former member of W.O.W. (Walkers of Westminster). She was also a quilter and volunteered at the Westminster cemeteries. Mrs. Hayward leaves one daughter, Susan Bolduc, with whom she lived; one grandson, Benjamin Z. Bolduc and one granddaughter Melissa Bolduc; two great-grandsons, Dylan Rogers and Timothy Rogers all of Townsend; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald E. and Pauline Croff of Barre; and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Roger Hayward who died Jan. 19, 1993. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church of Westminster Memorial Fund, P.O.
