Oakmont 5 girls' team takes title

The Oakmont Grade 5 Girls Travel Basketball Team won the North Central Massachusettts Youth Basketball League Championship Game on Sunday, March 4, at Oakmont High School with a hardfought victory over Lunenburg. The win over Athol on Saturday, March 3, advanced them to the championship game. The team went undefeated with an 8-0 record entering the playoffs. During the season, the team was triumphant in all their division games, defeating teams from Quabbin, Athol, Mahar, Littleton and Narragansett. They also upset Concord Carlisle from the Central Mass Large School Division during the regular season.
