Locals to play in lax jamboree The North Middlesex Regional boys' and girls' lacrosse teams will cross the state line over the next two weekends to take part in a pair of jamborees in Nashua and Manchester, N.H., respectively. The boys' team will be participating in the Sixth Annual Nashua High School Lacrosse Jamboree, sponsored by Nashua North and Nashua South's lacrosse programs, on March 30-April 1 at Stellos Stadium. The Patriots will play 30-minute running time games with no timeouts. NM is one of two Central Mass. teams participating, as St. Bernard's of Fitchburg will also compete in the jamboree. The girls' team will take part in Southern New Hampshire University's "March Thaw" jamboree on Sunday, March 25 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at SNHU's soccer/ lacrosse field across from the Penmen Athletics & Recreation Complex. As of Friday, March 9, North Middlesex is the only Massachusetts team participating in the girls' jamboree. Teams participating include Pinkerton Academy, Souhegan, Bishop Brady, Hollis-Brookline, Central and Goffstown, all from New Hampshire. Teams are guaranteed 80 minutes of playing time with four, 20-minute contests. The North Middlesex Regional School Committee approved the teams' request to travel out of state during its meeting this past Monday night. |
