WESTMINSTER - Linda E. (Nevala) McNally, 63, of 10 Carter Road, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in HealthAlliance Hospital/ Leominster, after an illness.
She was born in Fitchburg on March 14, 1944, the daughter of the late Bruno K. and Fannie (Niemi) Nevala. She was a 1962 graduate of Fitchburg High School.
Mrs. McNally worked for many years as a nurse's aide at the former Mt. Elam Nursing Home in Fitchburg and the former Eastwood Pines Nursing Home in Gardner. She also worked as an inspector for the H&R Gun Manufacturing Co. in Gardner, and the Westminster Country Club as a cook. She had recently been working for her son as a baker at McNally's Restaurant in Westminster.
She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Westminster. She loved to bake, and she was the Boston Red Sox number one fan. She loved spending summers in North Truro on Cape Cod, and spending time with her loving family.
Mrs. McNally leaves her husband of 43 years, John W. McNally, whom she married on June 29, 1963; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kelly Batten of Fitchburg and Kathy Locke and her husband Jeff of Hooksett, N.H.; two sons, Sean McNally of Westminster and Shannon McNally of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Hanna Locke and Bradley Locke, Amanda Lynn Batten and Sean Fernandez; two sisters, Joyce Manzello of Ashby and Barbara Stevens of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
